The Dance Sensation Energizing the Crowd- Godolude.

Mandlenkosi Mpofu, known as Godolude, is a talented dancer and musician based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Renowned for his captivating dance moves, he leaves audiences wanting more. His nickname, Godolude, reflects his tall stature, likened to a long log. He leads the Godolude and Friendly Brothers Band, affectionately called EzeENERGY, which captures the vibrant energy they bring to their performances, specializing in Tshibilika/Rhumba music.

Born and raised in Plumtree, Matabeleland South, Godolude completed his primary education at Mhlotshana Primary School and secondary education at Phakamani High School. With over 15 years of experience, he has a remarkable ability to engage audiences, encouraging them to respond to his dynamic dance style. His music resonates with listeners from all walks of life, addressing themes of daily struggles and perseverance.

Godolude’s journey into professional dance began unexpectedly. His big break came in 2009 while in South Africa, where he met renowned Tshibilika/Rhumba musician Clement Magwaza during a performance. Inspired by Magwaza’s music, Godolude’s impressive dance captivated the crowd, prompting him to take his talents to new heights.

He has since performed extensively across Zimbabwe and in neighboring countries like Botswana and South Africa. Influenced by artists such as Themba Boyoyo of Mokis Connection and the late Tongai Moyo (Dhewa), Godolude has released six albums: *Impilo Luhambo* (2018), *Dlalelani Khatshana* (2019), *Suk’mva Kwami* (2020), *Sphundu Awulamehlo* (2021), *i-Target* (2022), and *Walikhaba Walichaphisa* (2023). He is set to release his seventh album, *Angihlehli Anginyikinyeki*, in November 2024.

Godolude has collaborated with various artists, including Madlela Skhobokhobo, Mrs. Magwaza, and Mlambos Express Band. He has also shared stages with prominent Zimbabwean musicians such as Alick Macheso, Jah Prayzah, Sandra Ndebele, Jeys Marabini, and South Africa’s Master KG. Performing alongside these established artists inspires him to elevate his craft.

Recognized for his contributions, Godolude has been nominated in the Rhumba/Tshibilika category at the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (RoilBAA) and has seen his music chart on Skyz Metro FM.

Passionate about sharing his art, Godolude plans to establish dance groups in Zimbabwe to mentor young dancers in schools. He also aspires to explore acting and expand his brand internationally. Grateful for the support of his fans and the business community, he has gained more performance opportunities, allowing him to sustain his career through various events such as weddings, parties, and official openings.
