Nkayi Arts Festival, Second Edition: A Week of Unforgettable Music, Culture, and Community Spirit!

Get ready for an unforgettable December as Nkayi comes alive with the vibrant rhythms of creativity and culture! The highly anticipated festival, organized by a dynamic group of local creatives, is set to deliver a week-long celebration of music, art, and community spirit. This festival promises to showcase the incredible talents of more than 20 artists, offering a diverse range of performances that will captivate and inspire audiences.

From December 25th to December 31st, Nkayi will be transformed into a hub of artistic expression, with performances taking place at various locations across the area, 25 December eGonye shopping centre,  26 December eNkayi centre koSipho Sami, 27 December eGwelutshena koMpinda eShop, 28 December eNyaje  koBenicho, 29 December eMateme koNxele, 30 December eKhomaya shopping centre and 31 December eMpumelelo eZenka koJunction. Each event will run from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the affordable entrance fees are just $2 for adults and $1 for children – a perfect opportunity for the whole family to experience the magic of the arts.

The festival is the brainchild of a passionate group of organizers: Intombi Yabelungu, Collen Moyo, Precious Diana, and Bheki Fuzane. Their mission is clear: to gain recognition and approval from the community, ensuring their works in music and culture are celebrated, supported, and inspire future generations. The Nkayi Festival aims to not only entertain but also to foster self-reliance, promote local music, and address pressing issues like youth drug abuse. Through this event, the organizers hope to mentor emerging artists and help them build sustainable careers in the arts.

The stellar lineup includes Bheki Fuzane & Maduma Express, Collen Moyo & Firm Gospel Foundation, Intombi Yabelungu, Precious Diana Indlovukazi, Sicelo Sibbs Jamela, The Melodious Psalms, Mxola & Kusile Brothers, Mamthi The Boiling Pot, Khehlelidala, Mapoteholes, Mqabuleni, Minister Phenius, Pastor Nkundla, Mchasisi Dube, Manqoba, Nqame’bomvu, Magwizi Comedy, Uvava Inkayishana Lukamapheqa, Quincy Qgoka Moyo, Magazi primary school, Intenjani Indiyazela, and Sisters of Paradise – a powerful mix of established and rising stars that will ensure this event is one to remember.
