“I am doing the modern gospel feel, the classic one whereas others tend to mainly focus on the traditional way of doing music even though my desires might take time to come to fruition”, says the Gwanda born and bred Thembela.
A vocalist, vocal coach and songwriter, the visually impaired creative discovered his passion for music when he joined the school choir at grade 2. He later joined an Acapella group during his early years at high school which he describes as one of the best experiences as it accorded him the opportunity to realise his vocal prowess.
With a passion to minister and preach through gospel music, he mentions how his music approach is different from that of others when he says that he has chosen the contemporary way of doing music with a high consideration of the evolution of the industry. His hopes are to transform the music industry and is well aware that this might take him a long time for his desires to be fulfilled.
The qualified social worker working with vulnerable groups, offering protection services among other services, mentions that his ability is stronger than his disability. In dire need of a mini studio, Thembela can play acoustic guitar and says he needs more training in this regard.
He cites some of the challenges that he faces and these include financial constraints, limited gospel music recognition and uptake. He also mentions that for now in his industry it is hard to make money as there is more money that one uses in order to release a song compared to the returns.
He further bemoans the difficulties in accessing gigs or shows for performances of late since the industry had recently been completely shut down due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Of note, the rainbow province’s own version of a Psalmist has worked with different groups such as ZimPraise and Hybrid Psalms, and with whom he has recorded some songs.
For his solo career he has managed to work on three singles, mainly, Hallelujah, Ndichamirira and Nkosi.


I know him from child wood he can sing and make buildings move and the mountains clap yet the rivers smile and oceans go dry because all the waters have turned into tears of of both real to the core and mixed fillings becoming the tears of joy all living beings,as the sun rises again for the opportunity of once appon a time just to hear him giglie and juggling with his voice praising the living God and you will realize that every moment of your life in nothing but a gift from God and you should spend it wisely while it still last and seek for courage and wisdom to change where you can and expect your fault and turn back to Jesus the son of the living God.
