A Concert to raise funds for Bongy’s heart operation in India.

She is one of the very few and highly talented female Maskandi artists in Zimbabwe, born Sibonginkosi Sibanda and well known as Bongy in the creative and cultural industry. Bongy is a Maskandi gospel musician, who says this passion developed back in 2006 when she was in grade 1 and she believes that this is what she was born to do.

Bongy is also a presenter who explains that she feverishly executes her role in any gathering in a passionate way. She is currently based in Bulawayo. This ambitious artist has showcased her artistry on several platforms locally and internationally where she has performed above par with so much zest as a dedicated person called to minister the gospel of God using music.  

She mentions Malawi, Zambia, South Africa and Zimbabwe as some of the countries where she had the priviledge to showcase her talent together with the reigning artists in the music industry. 

Bongy has released 2 albums, Methembe njalo and Sweet Jesus as well as 3 singles, Kubuyiselwa, Vuleka and Nguwe. In recognition of her works Bongy is in possession of the following 3 awards; 2019 Destiny Global awards song of the  Year award, 2022 Destiny Global awards best female artist of the year award as well as the 2022 Destiny Global awards song of the year award.

Through her brand, the Bongy’s Nate Hub and in partnership with Kings Bible Church, preparations for a charity concert are at an advanced stage. Bongy explains that the motive behind this concert is to help her in raising money needed for her heart operation that she is expected to do in India. In 2019 she was diagnosed with a heart condition  and the doctors have recommended a heart surgery. She is due for an operation in India on 15 February 2024.

Bongy is appealing to the hearts of all well-wishers to be assisted with raising $USD 25 000, an amount that will cover travelling, accommodation and operation expenses. “I was diagnosed with a heart problem in 2019, my condition is deteriorating rapidly, I am in pain, the doctors have recommended an operation that must be taken in India. I do not have enough in my personal savings. I have a lot of confidence and faith in you that you will show your support. I am inviting you to this concert where I will also be performing though I might not be very fit as before I got this condition, I promise to do my best to delight you. The contributions will go a long way in assisting me with the required costs for a successful operation”, explains Bongy.

The concert will take place on 27January 2024 at Kings Bible Church in Bulawayo located along 14^th avenue between George Silundika and Five street. The following and many more yet to confirm will be featured, Ramsey K, Obert Dube, Eli Mambo, Maluka, Doc Mac and Bongy. On this day there will also be a double book launch and sale of her merchandise that includes T-shirts and caps.
