Visionry: Reimagining Stories Through Digital Expression

Behind the brand Visionry is Keith Musingarabwi, known online as @munash3, a bold Zimbabwean creative whose journey into digital art is as authentic as it is inspiring. His mantra, “Believe it. See it,” perfectly encapsulates his philosophy: that imagination is the seed of every reality.

Keith’s artistic journey began long before pixels and screens. As a child, he found himself captivated by the sketches of his older sibling, which sparked his own fascination with drawing. Starting with traditional art on paper, he gradually evolved into a digital artist and graphic designer. His very first digital experiments were far from glamorous, using Photosnap on a humble Nokia X2-01, a process that tested both his patience and passion. But even then, Keith was determined to explore how technology could amplify creativity.

Growing up surrounded by art and music shaped his craft profoundly. Today, his work often fuses cultural storytelling with modern aesthetics, reflecting both his personal experiences and broader Zimbabwean identity. Comics and cartoons played a major role in his artistic imagination, he grew up replicating characters but eventually pushed himself to create original ones from scratch, turning his drawings into unique reflections of his own world.

One of Keith’s proudest achievements is “Culture,” a signature design he created under his clothing brand Visionry, which featured local hip hop artists. The project demonstrated his ability to merge visual storytelling with fashion, bridging digital art and cultural identity in a way that resonated deeply with audiences.

For Keith, digital art is not just a medium but a gateway. He believes technology empowers African creatives by giving them the tools to reach audiences far beyond their immediate environment. He uses platforms like Instagram, X and TikTok (@munash3) to showcase his designs, connect with fellow artists and inspire the youth to embrace originality. While he has yet to participate in exhibitions or festivals, he envisions future collaborations, showcases and international recognition that will allow Zimbabwean digital art to shine on global stages.

His creative process is both disciplined and organic, often sketching a piece multiple times, even for weeks or months, until he feels it embodies his vision. While he occasionally faces creative blocks or questions of identity (“How do I create something that feels uniquely mine?”), his solution is simple: rest, refine and return stronger.

Keith’s ultimate goal is to inspire others, especially young African creatives, to tell their stories authentically rather than imitate trends. His advice is clear: “Stay true to your craft and the rest will follow.”

Through Visionry, Keith is redefining digital art in Zimbabwe, not as imitation of global styles, but as a powerful platform to prove that African artists can create original, world-class narratives. Whether through character design, digital illustration or wearable art, his mission remains consistent: to spark imagination, inspire authenticity and remind others that every great creation begins as a belief.
