Filmmakers relied on local talent and often produced films shot on video rather than traditional film stock. However, as the industry gained momentum, it experienced a remarkable evolution. Technological advancements, improved production techniques, and the increasing demand for Nigerian content led to a profound shift in the industry. Today, Nollywood is recognized globally as one of the largest and most influential film industries, boasting a diverse array of films with enhanced production values, a cadre of skilled actors, and an international distribution network.
